Simply judging an OS by its looks is rather shallow. Have a look at Vista. Looks can be deceiving. Never judge a book by its cover. 
Secondly, we'll have to wait till Fedora 9 comes out. The one released recently was just an alpha. They haven't even decided on the new theme yet :p

correction... it is only shallow if you and your distro are dating
