Here is a summry of how to install Real Player on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon without hassles.

Code: Select all: sudo apt-get install libstdc++5 wget -c http://www.debian-multimedia.org/pool/main/r/realplay/realplayer_10.0.9-0.1_i386.deb sudo dpkg -i realplayer_10.0.9-0.1_i386.deb

And here us a detailed description that includes very verose output of the above commands.

First install some pre-requisites:

The output is as follows:

Then go into your /tmp directory and fetch a current version of real player from debian multimedia as follows:

Now, install the downloaded debian package like so:
