Adjusting levels with alsamixer

Postby PhaseMaster on December 12th, 2011, 11:24 am

The shell command shown below exposes more of my sound card's native controls than the Windows interface did.

Code: Select all
$ alsamixer

The Windows interface for the Creative Labs version of surround sound (CMSS 3D) provides a single slider for front-to-back balance. Linux exposes two 3D sliders: "Center" and "Depth." One can make coarse adjustments to the alsamixer level controls by pressing the up|down arrow keys, or with the mouse wheel.

Does anybody know how to make fine adjustments in alsamixer?
