a2ps darker text

Postby prendes13 on October 28th, 2008, 11:08 am

Hi, How can I make a2ps text output be darker. I use it to then convert the ps output to faxg3 using gs in order to fax it. But the text body is very light.
I read http://www.infres.enst.fr/~demaille/a2p ... 2ps_6.html but I can not follow the example since I believe there are steps assumed which I am missing.
Thanks

unfortunately, the man page of a2ps does not list any options that would make it darker, one could use postscript (ps) commands to bold the text :?: (I for one don't know ps well enough myself).

 i do know that our HP printer has lots of settings (for different modes of operation) such as f.e. toner density, resolution, and economode, all of which will affect how dark the output is versus how much ink gets used. If the text you are printing is black, then given a correct printer setting, it will be very much dark black on the printout.
