Can't launch Matlab in Fedora 10

Postby agnibha_d on March 29th, 2009, 9:28 am

Hi All,

I have successfully installed Matlab 2008a on my Fedora 10 laptop. The program launched once after installation but I am not able to launch it again from the terminal. I am pasting below the error message I get when I try to launch it.

[Agni@localhost bin]$ matlab
/usr/local/matlabR2008a/bin/glnx86/MATLAB: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/local/matlabR2008a/bin/glnx86/../../bin/glnx86/../../bin/glnx86/../../bin/glnx86/../../bin/glnx86/libmwrookfastbp.so: cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied
[Agni@localhost bin]$

Can anyone help me?

Thanks.

Try starting matlab as the superuser and see if you get the same error message. I run Matlab 2008a in Fedora 10 with no dramas.

Finally, I have successfully installed Matlab 2009a on my Fedora 12 laptop. The program launched once after installation but I am not able to launch it again from the terminal. I am pasting below the error message I get when I try to launch it.
